Doctors’ orders: The power of friendship

Recently, I had a childhood friend get hit with a pretty significant terminal health diagnosis. As I have been ruminating about her and the remaining years of her young life, I again felt this sense of gratitude for the opportunity I have had to have great friends in my life. Friendship is so interesting — how it morphs and changes as we age and go through different phases in our lives. We start with our childhood friends. Our memories of them are of their homes, families, birthday parties and playing. Generally, they know the purest core of us – who we were before we became jaded by the world and life experience.
